Hi, I’m Naomi.

I am a holistically-minded, Charlotte Mason-inspired, outdoor-loving nanny and family assistant of 20+ years, currently working in Kerrville and Fredericksburg, TX.

Get in Touch

As a cluster of small towns with no local staffing agencies, it can be difficult for nannies and families to connect in the Hill Country. I often get asked by both families and nannies if I know of anyone looking. If you are in need of a nanny, feel free to send me a job description. If you are a nanny looking for a position, feel free to send me your resume. I’m happy to help connect people when I’m able to.

Recommendations

Naomi is incredibly intelligent and she shared her love of reading and exploring with her kiddos. One thing that sets Naomi apart is she is well versed in several home education programs, Charlotte Mason philosophy and Montessori principles. She never hesitated to keep the girls active in nature, even on the hottest of Texas summer days! Naomi was always a source of knowledge and introduced us to so many lovely books, programs, and concepts. She respected and honored our home lifestyle choices (feeding our children a balanced organic diet, used non-toxic products at home and on body, no screen time, etc.), bringing me peace of mind that the girls were nourished physically and mentally.

Naomi started caring for our daughter since she was 2 months of age. Five years later, we have a wonderful creative kindergartener who has a love of nature, books and a kind mind. It is without a doubt that Naomi's care and involvement in her development directly contributed to that. Many days our daughter would end her day playing outside, which made her very happy (even on days she was covered in dirt from outside play time). They explored many aspects of *the city together, including public libraries, parks, museums and nearby farms. She is more than a nanny to us, she is a part of our family.

Naomi is cool, calm, and collected. Even with our wild daughter always testing her limits, she managed to maintain her position as the authority in our home and helped to provide more structure to my daughter's life. Her positioning with children earns her respect from her little ones. Although clearly the authority in the house, Naomi is also the silliest one with the kiddos - always playing, jumping around, doing silly faces and voices, and doing imaginative play. The girls are still giddy every time Naomi comes over. They are just ready to jump all over her!

Naomi is extremely hands-on and entirely focused on our children when she is with them.  I am never worried about them when she is taking care of them, and I know that they are in great hands and will be well cared for and learning with her.  She creates fun activities and games and new ways to play.  She is playful and silly with the boys and, at the same time, disciplines them in a way that I am extremely comfortable with and try to emulate.  We love how much she encourages outdoor play and exploring nature and the world around them.  The kids do not watch TV with Naomi, and I can tell the boys’ curiosity and exploration grew because of her influence and their time at parks, the splash pad, the nature center, and even the library.  She successfully and safely managed outings with all three young children every day, which is not easy, but she truly seemed to enjoy it and so did all three kids.  I give Naomi the credit for potty training my boys in a few weeks also!

What makes Naomi so exceptional as a childcare giver is difficult to put succinctly into words! She devotes her full energy and attention to her charges. She plays with them, interacts with them, cares about them and is unafraid to expose them to activities. I believe she is confident of her abilities and knows she is doing right by the kids she watches. In our case she has often brought *our children back to us dirty, exhausted and thoroughly happy! I have never heard anything from my children about Naomi other than positive comments.

Naomi is experienced, knowledgeable, and brought order to the chaos of early mornings with our young children. She is always prepared with age appropriate learning activities, loves to get outside and take the kiddos fun places. She truly has a passion for childcare, and we had a peace knowing our children were in such capable hands every day.
